Renovated main runway and taxiway of Zvartnots Airport put into operation
The section from Apron 1 (MTWY) to Taxiway "Alpha" (TWY A) at Zvartnots International Airport, which has not been in operation since the 1970s, has been completely renovated and put into operation. The total area of the renovated section is approximately 53,200 m² (1,400 m x 38 m).
Operation of this section of MTWY and TWY A will significantly enhance the airport’s operational efficiency. It will allow for more optimal ground movement of aircraft, increasing the total number of aircraft movements by about 35%, reducing congestion, and boosting the overall number of aircraft/flights served by the airport. The section is designed to accommodate the movement of heavy cargo aircraft and can also serve as an additional evacuation route.
This development is a key component of the airport’s ongoing development program, aimed at ensuring a high-quality and comfortable travel experience for passengers.
